SSY Trainee Scheme
With over 145 years’ experience, SSY is widely regarded as one of the world's most trusted names in broking, offering a comprehensive and integrated suite of broking services via its 27 local offices.
Through our London Trainee Scheme, successful applicants get the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced names in shipping over a 12-month period. In addition to expert divisional training, we will also ensure the trainees are educated in the principals of shipping, as well as take part in networking opportunities and a series of port visits and vessel trips.

Job description:
This role will focus mainly on financial reporting, month-end closing and compliance matters for multiple entities. This role supports the Head of Finance and ensures accurate and timely financial information.
Responsibilities:
•Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
•Assist with budgeting/forecasting, cashflow monitoring and variance analysis
•Prepare audit schedules, financial statements and liaise with external auditors
•Prepare GST submissions
•Asist with partnership and corporate tax schedules, and other statutory filings
•Handle company secretarial and regulatory matters
•Perform intercompany reconciliations and support group reporting

Skills required:

Job description:
The IT Compliance Administrator will be responsible for the provisioning, deployment, upkeep and maintenance of user devices (laptops, Mobiles, iOS devices, etc), ensuring that they comply with our security standards, and supporting staff in their day-to-day use of devices and related services. This role also includes maintaining the device lifecycle, asset management, being a point-of-contact for device-related issues, and ensuring our mobile device programme runs smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• Deploy, configure and maintain user devices (Windows laptops/desktops, iOS (iPhone/iPad) devices) according to company standards.
• Manage the mobile device management (MDM) / iOS device fleet: enrolment, updates, security patches, application deployment, device retirement.
• Ensure devices meet our security and compliance requirements (e.g., encryption, antivirus/endpoint protection, secure configuration, mobile device policy enforcement).
• Maintain an accurate inventory of devices and hardware assets; track device lifecycle (procurement, deployment, returns, replacements).
• Provide technical support for device-related issues: users, software/hardware problems, connectivity, peripheral devices.
• Work with other IT teams to integrate devices with company systems (e.g., directory services, file shares, mobile apps, remote access).
• Assist in rolling out OS upgrades, firmware updates, and patch management for desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
• Monitor, report and act upon device health, compliance and usage metrics.
• Document standard operating procedures, device configuration standards, and contribute to improvements in our device deployment and support processes.
• Provide training or guidance to end-users on device usage, best practices and security awareness.

Skills required:
• Proven experience in a device-/endpoint-focused IT support or administration role (for example managing desktops/laptops and mobile devices).
• Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, especially for iOS devices (iPhones/iPads).
• Good working knowledge of Windows (desktop OS), the Microsoft 365 environment (or equivalent), Active Directory, user account management.
• Understanding of device security standards: encryption, endpoint protection, secure configuration, patching.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail (especially in asset management / device lifecycle tracking).
• Good communication skills with end-users: able to explain device issues, assist non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small IT team; multitask across multiple device platforms and issues.
• Ideally experience with Apple device provisioning and management (deployment, supervision, device return/recycling).
• Ability to document processes and contribute to improvements.
Desirable skills but not essential:
• Certification or formal training (e.g., Microsoft M365, Apple MDM, ITIL awareness).
• Experience with remote device management and support (remote access, mobile connectivity).
• Familiarity with other operating systems (e.g., macOS) or advanced mobile platforms.
• Experience working in a regulated or security-sensitive environment.
