Goran Rostad drops all legal proceedings against SSY and accepts dismissal decision on grounds of gross misconduct.

SSY, the world’s largest independent broking house has today confirmed the dismissal of former employee, Goran Rostad on the grounds of gross misconduct. Rostad has fully accepted the decision and has dropped all legal proceedings against the firm going forward.
Rostad has also admitted liability for a series of wrongdoings and has apologised unreservedly to SSY management and staff. Furthermore, he has agreed to pay SSY a substantial financial settlement to cover legal fees and to compensate for misuse of company funds while employed at the firm.
Speaking on today’s news, Stanko Jekov, Managing Partner, SSY comments; “Over the past months, we have been subject to a series of false accusations and have had to stand by while one individual did their best to dismantle both the reputation of our firm and the wider shipping industry – aided and abetted by certain publications in the media who were only too willing to sensationalise the story for “clickbait” rather than report on the actual facts. The picture that has been painted is in no way representative of SSY or the shipping community of today – but rather, indicative of an individual who was himself, the problem”.
Jekov continues: “I’m happy that the truth has prevailed and the individual has apologised for the distress he has caused – this was always a question of right versus wrong and I’m glad that we have been vindicated. Above all, this case centred on our fundamental right to uphold and protect the values that SSY stands for – this is something that we will always robustly defend”.
