SSY hires Tanker chartering specialist Jesper Frølich for new Director role as business further expands its presence in Denmark

SSY, the world’s largest independent shipbroker, has today announced that its Tankers division has appointed Jesper Frølich as a new Director of Period and Specialised Projects, effective from 2^nd September 2024.

A maritime and chartering expert, Frølich has worked within the tanker industry for more than 17 years.  Beginning his career in 2007 at Torm in Copenhagen, Frølich then joined Maersk Tankers in 2013 where he held a number of senior chartering roles across the business, including Global Head of DPP, Head of SPP West of Suez and Lead Charterer, MR.

Based in Copenhagen, Frølich will work alongside the global Tanker Projects team to further build on SSY Tankers’ success, both domestically in Denmark and around the world.

Speaking on his new appointment,  Jesper Frølich comments: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining SSY. While I have worked for 17 years in the tanker industry, it has always been on the ship-owning side.

So it’s wonderful to get the opportunity to work in a new area of an industry which I know very well.”

Frølich continues: “I have spent most of my career in Copenhagen and have always been puzzled about the presence – or the lack – of brokers in Denmark and I think that is the general perception. I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to change that perception.”
