SSY expands footprint in Japan with new Osaka office and new “return” signing

SSY, the world’s largest independent shipbroker, has today announced that it has expanded its presence in Japan with a new dedicated office in Osaka, bringing the total number of global offices to 25. Already present in Tokyo since 2010, the new Osaka office further demonstrates SSY’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Japan.

In addition, SSY has also announced that Naoki Tamura will be returning to SSY to head up the new office in Osaka. Tamura, who initially began his shipbroking career with SSY, left in 2018 to join Maersk Brokers where, until recently, he held the position of Head of Osaka and Senior Director. An experienced broker, Tamura has achieved significant success in developing long-term project business with Japanese owners in the western regions.

Speaking on today’s announcements, Naoki Tamura comments: “I’m both delighted and excited to be returning to SSY. Tamura continues: “I’m confident that we can bring more opportunities to the local Japanese shipping community from our new Osaka base, thereby extending our reach even further”.
